Dr. Linda Jones

During the Fall 2020, Dr. Linda K Jones came out of retirement to join the DNA Academy's family of schools as superintendent of schools. DNA Prep Academy is their newest campus, opening in the Fall 2021. Dr. Jones is a graduate and alumni of CA State University Northridge, where she earned her B.A. degree in Urban Studies, M.A. degree in special education and Clear Education Specialist credential, and her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Dr. Jones has worn many hats over the last 35 years, including working as a licensed vocational nurse for 17 years, 2 years as a field representative for a CA State Assembly state representative, 22 years as a public-school teacher, 14 years as an education leader and elected school board trustee for the Westside Union School District, a public-school district of over 9,000 students in grades K-8, located in northern Los Angeles county. Dr. Jones is a respected community advocate known for her unwavering commitment to progress, equity, and her ability to find common solutions out of a diversity of ideas, through community organizing, working with governmental officials, advocacy and political campaigns. Both as an elected official and a private citizen, Dr. Jones has spent her life dedicated to the service of others. A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Jones married and lives with her husband Robert of 41 years who is a retired teacher and education therapist. Together, she and Robert have three daughters and five grandchildren.
